This is the upper end of the category: premium kitchen appliances, complete modular fittings, large décor pieces, quality outdoor sets and leftover renovation material. Buying here needs the same discipline as any large purchase — verify the model, the age and what is actually included.
Leftover renovation material is the hidden opportunity
When a renovation finishes, whatever is left over — tiles, laminates, fittings, sanitaryware, hardware, sometimes entire unused modular units — becomes a problem for the owner and a bargain for someone else. If you are renovating, this is genuinely worth watching. What to check before you buy:
- Quantity and coverage. Count the boxes and work out the actual area covered, allowing for cuts and breakage. Running short mid-job is expensive, because matching a batch later is often impossible.
- Batch numbers. On tiles, confirm everything is from the same batch — shade varies noticeably between batches of the same design.
- Storage condition. Material stored outdoors or in damp can be unusable. Check for water damage on anything board-based, and rust on hardware.
- Completeness. For sanitaryware and fittings, confirm every part, fixing and seal is present.
Premium appliances and modular units
Chimneys, hobs, built-in ovens, dishwashers and modular kitchen units appear at this price. Ask the age and model number, and whether service and spare parts are still available for that model — on premium brands this matters more, not less, because parts are expensive. Run everything: test all burners on a hob, run a dishwasher cycle, check the chimney's suction and filter condition. For built-in units, confirm the exact dimensions against your own space before you commit, because a built-in appliance that does not fit the cabinet is worthless.
Large décor and outdoor sets
Check large mirrors for de-silvering and confirm the fixings are included. On outdoor furniture sets, inspect metal frames for rust at joints and feet, check weave or slats for splitting, and confirm all cushions are present and free of mildew. Verify the piece count against the ad — a "six-seater set" should have six sound chairs.
Transport and installation
Factor both into your budget. Built-in appliances need uninstallation at the seller's end and installation at yours, glass and stone need careful handling, and bulk material needs a tempo. Agree who is arranging what before you settle the price, and ask for the original bill and any warranty documents.
