Gurgaon — now officially Gurugram — has a large population of working professionals who upgrade often and relocate on short notice. That makes it a good place to find old and second hand TVs, monitors, sound bars, cameras and gadgets, many of them recent models with the bill still in the drawer.
Listings here are from local sellers. Contact the owner, test the item and pay directly — no commission.
What to check before you pay
- Test it at the seller’s place. Most sellers live in gated societies; ask the guard to let you in and test the item at the flat, or meet in a mall food court where it can be powered.
- Screens. Show plain white and black images to find dead pixels and lines, and try each HDMI port with your own cable.
- Power damage. Voltage swings and inverter changeovers take a toll. Ask whether the item was used with a stabiliser, and check the power board works on first switch-on.
- Dust. Gurgaon’s summer dust gets into fans, vents and camera bodies. Listen for noisy fans and look into vents with a torch.
- Company-issued equipment. Monitors and accessories with asset tags may belong to an employer. Ask for a personal invoice before buying.
Where the listings come from
DLF Phases 1 to 5, Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road produce larger TVs and home theatre systems from upgrades. Sohna Road, South City and the sectors around Cyber City turn over work-from-home monitors, speakers and gadgets as people change jobs. Older neighbourhoods such as Palam Vihar and the markets around Sector 14 list modest, well-used family electronics. It is also worth checking Delhi electronics if you can travel.
A fair price and a safe deal
Compare the asking price with the same model in current listings, adjust for age and condition, and pay more only for a working warranty. Meet in daylight, never send a token amount, share an OTP or scan a QR code to “receive” payment. Our safety tips explain the common scams. For a big TV, carry it upright in a car or book a goods vehicle.
