Delhi buyers have always tested electronics before paying — that is the Nehru Place and Gaffar Market habit. Bring it to a private deal and used TVs, cameras, speakers, headphones and gadgets from sellers near you become one of the best-value categories in the city.
Contact the owner directly, see the item switched on, and pay only when you are satisfied. Nothing is shipped and there is no commission.
How to test used electronics in Delhi
- Insist on power. Meet somewhere the item can be switched on. A seller who cannot demonstrate it working is asking you to take a risk you do not need to take.
- Bring your own gear. A pen drive for a TV, a memory card for a camera, your phone to pair with a speaker. Test with things you control.
- Screens. Show a plain white and a plain black image to catch dead pixels, lines and dark patches, and test every HDMI port with your own cable.
- Cameras. Ask for the shutter count, check the sensor for dust and the lens for fungus or haze — Delhi's humid monsoon and dusty summer are hard on both.
- Bill and serial number. Match the serial on the device with the box and the invoice. It proves ownership and shows the remaining warranty.
Where the listings come from
South Delhi and the apartment belts of Dwarka, Rohini and Pitampura list household electronics — TVs, sound bars, home audio — when families upgrade. North Campus and the coaching areas turn over speakers, headphones and budget gadgets on the student calendar. Working professionals across Delhi NCR, including Noida and Gurugram, list cameras, monitors and audio gear. If you are after a phone or a laptop specifically, see mobiles & tablets and computers & laptops.
Buying safely
Meet in a public place in daylight, never send an advance or share an OTP, and be wary of anyone offering to courier an item you have not seen. Our safety tips list the common patterns.
Selling electronics in Delhi
Photograph the item switched on, state its age, mention the bill and box if you have them, and describe faults honestly — ads that admit a scratch get more serious buyers.
