Delhi has one of India's deepest markets for tools and workshop equipment, and plenty of it comes back onto the classifieds after a renovation, a workshop upgrade or a completed project — power tools, hand tools, ladders, machinery and building material.
Browse the listings below, test the tool under load, and buy directly from the owner.
What to check
- Run it under load. Idle running hides worn brushes and failing bearings; cutting or drilling something does not.
- Cable, plug and switch. Look along the whole cable for tape or joins, and test the switch and any speed control.
- Play and noise. Wobble in the chuck or spindle, or a grinding sound, points to bearing wear.
- Cordless tools. Check the battery's age and charge retention, and whether replacements are still sold for that model.
- Guards and accessories. Confirm guards, chuck keys, bits, blades and the case are included.
- Bill and repair history. Ask for the invoice and whether the tool has been opened or repaired.
Where it comes from in Delhi
Workshop and fabrication equipment appears from the industrial areas around Okhla, Wazirpur, Naraina, Mayapuri and Bawana, as well as from Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad. Home renovation projects across the city list drills, grinders, saws, ladders and leftover building material — often barely used, since a homeowner buys a tool for one job. Delhi buyers benefit from being able to price-check almost anything against the trade markets, so do that before you negotiate.
Moving heavy equipment
Confirm the weight and dimensions before agreeing a price, and arrange a tempo and, where needed, help to load. For machinery, ask whether it is currently connected and working, and see it running — equipment that has been disconnected and stored for a long time is a bigger risk.
