Pune's IT corridors and student areas keep a steady flow of used TVs, monitors, speakers, headphones, cameras and gadgets on the market. Most of it is recent, well looked after, and sold by the person who used it.
Browse the listings below, meet the seller in person and see the item running before you pay.
What to test, and how
- Power it on. Arrange to meet where the item can be plugged in — at the seller's home for a TV, a café or a mall for anything portable.
- Use your own cable and pen drive. Test every port yourself rather than relying on the seller's setup.
- Screens. A plain white and a plain black image will reveal dead pixels, lines and uneven backlight immediately.
- Audio. Play at low and high volume to catch crackle and distortion, and check the battery life on anything wireless.
- Monsoon damage. Pune's rains are heavy. Look for corrosion on ports, water marks inside camera lenses and any musty smell from speakers.
- Bill and serial number. Match the serial on the device with the box and invoice, and check the remaining warranty.
Where the listings come from
Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner and Kharadi produce monitors, speakers, cameras and gadgets from working professionals, usually well-specified and only a few years old. The student belt around Kothrud, Karve Nagar and Sinhagad Road turns over headphones, portable speakers and budget electronics on the academic calendar. Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar and Magarpatta list household electronics from families. Pimpri-Chinchwad listings appear here as well. For computers specifically, see computers & laptops.
