If you live on the west side — Gachibowli, Nanakramguda, Madhapur, Kondapur, Miyapur or Nallagandla — most of what you will find is two to four years old and came out of a rented flat: beds and mattresses, wardrobes, study and work-from-home desks, washing machines, microwaves and ACs. Kukatpally and Miyapur carry the largest share of family-sized appliances. Across on the Secunderabad side, Marredpally and Begumpet turn up older solid-wood furniture, and the markets around Abids and Koti have long been where the city goes for second-hand tools, books and odd finds.
Hyderabad's summer matters when you buy appliances. Air conditioners and coolers list heavily in February and March, and again in September when people move. A used AC bought out of season is usually the better deal, as long as you have it checked for gas and compressor condition.
Meet in a public place in daylight — a mall entrance, a metro station, a busy market. For anything large, confirm lift access and society shifting hours first, and settle who arranges and pays for the tempo before you agree a price. Put your locality in the ad — "Kondapur, near Botanical Garden" or "Kukatpally Housing Board" — and buyers immediately know whether the trip is worth it.
