What to put in the ad
- Seating. 4-seater, 6-seater or 8-seater, and the table's length and width. Buyers check it against their room first.
- Top and frame. Solid wood, glass, marble or engineered wood; the wood type if you know it (sheesham, teak, rubberwood).
- Chairs. How many, whether they are cushioned, and the state of the upholstery. Wobbly chairs are the most common reason a deal falls through, so check and tighten them first.
- Extras. Extendable leaves, a bench instead of chairs, or a matching crockery unit.
Selling the chairs with it or separately
A complete set sells fastest and at the best overall price. If some chairs are damaged, sell the table with the good ones and say so; odd chairs can be listed separately. A glass or marble top should be moved separately from the frame, so mention that it detaches.
How to price a used dining table
Compare with dining sets of the same size and material currently listed in your city, and adjust for scratches, water rings, a chipped glass top or worn cushions. Solid wood and marble tops hold their value best. The furniture price calculator gives you a starting range.
Photos that sell
Photograph the full set from a corner in daylight, the top straight on, a chair close-up, the legs and joints, and any damage. Clear the table first — clutter hides the condition.
Pickup and payment
The buyer usually arranges the tempo and labour; Olditems does not arrange pickup. Hand over only after the full payment has reached your bank account, and never share an OTP or scan a buyer's QR code. See our safety tips.
