Used almirahs and wardrobes in your city
Google cannot show your exact street on one national page, so pick your city — each city page shows used furniture listed by owners in that city only: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Noida, Ahmedabad, Thane, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Chandigarh. Not listed? Use the city filter on the used furniture page and type your city or area.
What a used almirah should cost
Branded steel almirahs (Godrej and similar) hold value best and often list at around half their new price even after many years. Solid-wood wardrobes sit a little lower; engineered-wood and sliding-door units drop fastest because the board and the rollers wear. Compare with the new price of the same model and with other used listings in your city.
What to check before paying
- Doors. Open and close every door; they should hang straight and shut without lifting. Sliding doors should glide without jumping the track.
- Locks and keys. Ask for every key and try each lock and locker. A missing key on a steel almirah is a locksmith visit.
- Rust and damp. Look at the bottom edge, back and inside the base of a steel almirah for rust; check board wardrobes for swollen edges.
- Interior. Shelves, hanging rod, mirror and drawers should all be present and firm.
- Size. Measure the wardrobe and your doorway, staircase and lift. Tall wardrobes often have to be laid flat to get in.
Moving an almirah from nearby
A steel almirah moves in one piece, so you need two people and a tempo; wooden and sliding wardrobes often dismantle. Empty every shelf first and tape the doors shut. Agree with the seller who arranges transport before you settle the price.
Buying safely from a stranger near you
- Meet at the address where the item is kept, in daylight, and take someone with you for larger pieces.
- Pay only after you have seen and tested the item. Never send an advance, "token" or delivery charge online to hold something you have not seen.
- Pay by cash or UPI to the seller in front of you. Nobody needs your OTP, and you never scan a QR code to receive money.
- Olditems does not sell, deliver or hold stock — you and the owner settle price, payment and transport between yourselves. Read our safety tips first.
