Where the buyers are in Pune
West Pune — Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner, Balewadi, Aundh and Pimple Saudagar — has the most tenants looking for ready-to-use beds, mattresses, compact sofas, desks and office chairs. East Pune around Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Magarpatta and Hadapsar has more families buying sofa sets, dining tables and king beds. Kothrud, Karve Nagar, Warje and Sinhagad Road are where students buy study tables, chairs, single beds and bookshelves. Pimpri-Chinchwad — Chinchwad, Nigdi, Akurdi, Ravet — has a large family market of its own.
Sell to the student calendar
If you have study furniture, time it: demand rises around June–August when colleges admit new batches, and many students sell at the end of the academic year. Listing a study table, chair and bookshelf as a set helps a student furnish a room in one visit.
Monsoon condition matters
Pune's monsoon is heavy, and buyers here look for swelling, bubbling laminate and soft edges on the legs and back panels. Wipe down and air your furniture, photograph the base and back honestly, and mention if it was kept away from windows. Honest photos cut wasted visits, and a buyer who has already seen the flaws rarely tries to renegotiate at your door.
Move-out and transport
- Housing societies often want the secretary's or office's permission and an entry at the gate before furniture leaves; tenants may need the owner's approval.
- In direct sales the buyer usually books the tempo. Give your society name, wing and floor.
- List two to three weeks before your lease ends, and take full payment before handover.
