Used beds in your city
Google cannot show your exact street on one national page, so pick your city — each city page shows used furniture listed by owners in that city only: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Noida, Ahmedabad, Thane, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Chandigarh. Not listed? Use the city filter on the used furniture page and type your city or area.
Dedicated bed pages exist for Pune, Bengaluru and Thane.
Pricing a used bed near you
A solid-wood or metal double bed from a household lists at a third to half of its new price; engineered-wood beds with a hydraulic storage lift drop faster because the fittings wear. Many sellers include the mattress — decide in advance whether you want it, because a used mattress is a hygiene call, and ask for a lower price without it.
What to check on a second hand bed
- See it assembled. Sit, lie and press down on the middle. Nothing should creak, flex or rock.
- Slats and base. Lift the mattress and check every slat or the plywood base for cracks and sag.
- Storage lift. Raise and lower a hydraulic bed several times; a stiff or dropping lift means tired pistons.
- Borer and damp. Pinholes with fine dust on wood mean borer. Swollen board edges mean water.
- Hardware. Ask for all bolts, brackets and the Allen key. Missing hardware turns a bargain into a search.
Moving a bed from nearby
Most beds dismantle into headboard, footboard, side rails and slats — ask the seller to dismantle before you arrive, or bring tools and do it together. Measure your room and the lift first. A dismantled double bed fits a small tempo; a king with storage boxes needs a loader.
Buying safely from a stranger near you
- Meet at the address where the item is kept, in daylight, and take someone with you for larger pieces.
- Pay only after you have seen and tested the item. Never send an advance, "token" or delivery charge online to hold something you have not seen.
- Pay by cash or UPI to the seller in front of you. Nobody needs your OTP, and you never scan a QR code to receive money.
- Olditems does not sell, deliver or hold stock — you and the owner settle price, payment and transport between yourselves. Read our safety tips first.
