Delhi's second hand furniture markets
- Amar Colony, Lajpat Nagar. The classic used furniture market — lanes of shops with sofas, beds, wardrobes, dining sets, office furniture and some antique and restored pieces. Prices are negotiable; restoration and repolishing happen in the lanes behind.
- Kirti Nagar. Mainly new furniture, from manufacturers' showrooms to budget workshops, with some used and ex-display stock. The best place to learn what a new piece really costs before you negotiate a used one.
- Panchkuian Road. New and some used furniture close to Connaught Place; convenient for central and north Delhi.
- Dealers near you. Small used-furniture and office-furniture dealers cluster around Shastri Park, Laxmi Nagar, Kotla Mubarakpur and along Rohtak Road, and buy from vacating tenants with same-day pickup.
How the market prices against owners
Dealers pay low when a family is moving and sell at roughly double, more for sheesham and teak. An owner selling the same sofa or almirah directly usually asks a third to half of new — below the market — but you arrange the tempo and inspect it yourself. For one or two pieces, the owner route is nearly always cheaper; for a whole flat on a deadline, the market wins on speed and delivery.
Using the market well
- Visit Kirti Nagar or look at new prices online first, so a dealer's "half price" means something.
- Inspect the underside and back — shops repolish the top.
- Negotiate on several pieces together and get delivery included in writing.
- Ask whether a restored piece has been treated for borer, not just repolished.
Owner listings by item
Compare the market with what Delhi owners are asking: sofas, beds, almirahs and wardrobes and dining tables.
Pay safely
Meet the seller at the address where the item is kept, in daylight. Never pay an advance or "token" online for something you have not seen, and never share an OTP or scan a QR code to make a payment — pay by cash or UPI in person after inspecting it. Olditems does not sell, deliver or hold payment. Read our safety tips and browse all used furniture in Delhi.
