Used sofas in your city
Google cannot show your exact street on one national page, so pick your city — each city page shows used furniture listed by owners in that city only: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Noida, Ahmedabad, Thane, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Chandigarh. Not listed? Use the city filter on the used furniture page and type your city or area.
Some cities also have a dedicated sofa page: Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Pune and Hyderabad.
What a used sofa near you should cost
A well-kept fabric three-seater from a household typically lists at a third to half of its new price; branded recliners and solid-wood frames hold more, heavily used or stained sets hold far less. Benchmark against a comparable new sofa and against the other used listings in your city, not against what the seller paid. Re-upholstery costs real money, so a tired fabric should mean a lower price.
How to check a second hand sofa in five minutes
- Frame. Lift one corner a few inches and watch the far end. A sound frame lifts as one piece; a creak or twist means broken joints.
- Foam. Sit in every seat, not just the best one. Seats that sink deeply or stay dented need new foam.
- Springs and webbing. Press the base under the cushions. Sagging straps or a spring you can feel point to a rebuild.
- Fabric and smell. Check under the cushions and along the back; smell the upholstery for smoke, pets and damp.
- Mechanisms. Operate a recliner or sofa-cum-bed several times. It should open and close without forcing.
Getting a sofa home from nearby
A three-seater fits a small tempo; a full 3+1+1 set or a large sectional needs a bigger loader. Ask whether the legs unscrew and whether a sectional unbolts into modules — that is what gets it through a narrow stairwell or a small lift. Agree who arranges and pays for transport before you fix the price.
Buying safely from a stranger near you
- Meet at the address where the item is kept, in daylight, and take someone with you for larger pieces.
- Pay only after you have seen and tested the item. Never send an advance, "token" or delivery charge online to hold something you have not seen.
- Pay by cash or UPI to the seller in front of you. Nobody needs your OTP, and you never scan a QR code to receive money.
- Olditems does not sell, deliver or hold stock — you and the owner settle price, payment and transport between yourselves. Read our safety tips first.
