Find used furniture in your own city
Google cannot show your exact street on one national page, so pick your city — each city page shows used furniture listed by owners in that city only: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Noida, Ahmedabad, Thane, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Chandigarh. Not listed? Use the city filter on the used furniture page and type your city or area.
What "near me" furniture usually costs
Owners selling because of a move price to clear, not to profit. As a rough guide, a working sofa set, bed or wardrobe from a household lists at a third to half of its new price; branded solid-wood pieces hold value better and particle-board pieces drop faster. Compare the asking price with a similar new item and with other used listings in your city rather than with what the seller originally paid, and use the furniture price calculator as a second opinion before you make an offer.
Owner, dealer or market — which is actually nearest?
- Owners in your area (this page). Lowest prices, you see the furniture in the home it was used in, and most are within your part of the city. You arrange a tempo yourself.
- Second hand furniture shops and dealers. Instant choice and they deliver, but every piece carries a resale margin, and you cannot tell how it was treated before. See second hand furniture shops near me for how to use them well.
- Furniture markets. Good for comparing new prices before you negotiate a used one.
How to check used furniture before paying
- Structure. Lift one corner of a sofa or bed and push it sideways; it should move as one solid piece without creaks.
- Wood and board. Look underneath and at the back for swelling, flaking laminate or borer holes — the tell-tale pinholes with fine dust.
- Doors, drawers and mechanisms. Open every door and drawer, run every recliner, sofa-cum-bed and hydraulic storage bed several times.
- Smell and stains. Smoke, pets and damp live in upholstery and mattresses and do not leave.
- Measurements. Measure your room, doorway, staircase and lift before you go. Ask whether the piece dismantles.
Getting it home
Most buyers book a tempo or mini-truck for the day; a single sofa or almirah fits a small loader. Agree who arranges and pays for transport before you settle the price, and ask about building timing rules at both ends. Nearby is cheaper for a reason — a short trip is often what makes the difference between a bargain and a hassle.
Buying safely from a stranger near you
- Meet at the address where the item is kept, in daylight, and take someone with you for larger pieces.
- Pay only after you have seen and tested the item. Never send an advance, "token" or delivery charge online to hold something you have not seen.
- Pay by cash or UPI to the seller in front of you. Nobody needs your OTP, and you never scan a QR code to receive money.
- Olditems does not sell, deliver or hold stock — you and the owner settle price, payment and transport between yourselves. Read our safety tips first.
