Browse used sofa sets listed by people across India — three-seaters, 3+2 sets, L-shaped sectionals, recliners and sofa-cum-beds, often from families moving house or upgrading. A sofa keeps its frame for many years, so a well-kept used one can be much better value than a cheap new one.

Which type of sofa are you looking for?
- 3+2 or 3+1+1 sets — the classic living-room arrangement. Check that all pieces are included and match in fabric and wear.
- L-shaped and sectional sofas — measure carefully, and confirm which side the chaise sits on; many cannot be switched.
- Recliners — work the lever or motor several times on every seat. Manual mechanisms should lock firmly; powered ones need their adapter.
- Sofa-cum-beds — open and close the bed fully at least twice. The pull-out or click-clack mechanism should move smoothly without grinding or bent metal.
Fabric, leatherette or leather
Fabric sofas hide wear well but hold dust and odours, so plan for a shampoo or dry-clean before use. Leatherette (rexine) looks sharp at first but peels and cracks with age and heat — run your hand along the seat edges and armrests, where flaking starts. Genuine leather ages slowly and cleans easily, but check for deep scratches and dried-out patches.
How to check the frame and seat
- Frame. Lift one front corner a few inches: a solid wood frame stays rigid, while a weak ply or particle-board frame twists. Metal frames are sturdy but look for rust at the legs.
- Springs and webbing. Press the seat base through the cushion. You should feel even support, not a sag, a loose strap or a spring poking through.
- Foam. Sit on every seat for a minute and stand up. Good-density foam recovers quickly; low-density foam stays dented and feels like sitting on the frame.
- Pets, stains and smell. Check under the cushions and along the back for hair, scratches, stains and a musty or pet odour, which is hard to remove completely.
Measure before you go
Note the width, depth and height of the sofa and compare them with your doorways, lift cabin and staircase turns. Ask whether the legs unscrew or the arms and back detach — a sofa that dismantles is far easier to move. For corner sofas, confirm whether the sections separate.
Fair price, safe deal and transport
Compare the asking price with similar current listings, and weigh the age, frame material and upholstery condition. Point out real faults when you negotiate. Always see the sofa in person, pay only after inspecting it, and never send a token or advance online, or share an OTP or scan a QR code to "receive" money — read our safety tips. Agree up front who books the tempo and pays the loaders.
